The end of term has arrived and hopefully some of the beautiful weather will last so we can all enjoy some sunny holiday fun. This morning we all walked to the church for our end of term assembly where Mrs McMullan presented cups and awards to lots of children.
The Attendance Award was presented to Freya Fulcher in Year 4 for 100% attendance and her super attitude towards school life.
The Sports Award was presented to Darcey Wenham in Reception for her enthusiasm in all sporting activities both in and out of school.
The Arts Award was presented to Sam Arnold in Year 3 for his performance in the Drama Club production of CinderAlan!
The house captains for Blickling came up to receive the Sports Day cup.
The house captains for Felbrigg came up to receive the House Points cup.
Also well done to all the children who received a bronze, silver or gold attendance certificate.
Don't forget that today the children will be leaving their shoes behind as they leave school to support Sal's Shoes. Parents can collect children from the field.
All that remains is to say....
HAPPY HOLIDAYS and we'll see you all back on Thursday 6th September
Today the Digital Leaders went to visit the Apple Store in Norwich. It was very exciting due to travelling upstairs on the bus and getting to use the iPads. We had a session with one of the Apple Experts who showed us how to create and save music using the Garageband app. Everyone composed and arranged their own piece of music which we shared at the end. It was great fun and if anyone else fancies having a go Apple run workshops during the school holidays and weekends.
In a few weeks we will close the school and children will cheer to mark the end of the academic year. Before the children run for the doors to enjoy the summer holiday, we want then to change another child’s life on the way out…We ask that at the end of the last day of term, they take their old school shoes off and place them on their table and leave their classroom barefoot. We will give the donated shoes to a child in Africa via the wonderful work of Sal’s shoes. So these shoes, which are unlikely to be used again because feet grow over the summer or are a little scuffed, won’t just sit in a cupboard getting in the way, but will have a second life. We would love for your child to take part. A whole school leaving barefoot is a powerful message that we want to help those fellow school children who have no choice and leave school barefoot every day. Please help us to help others who are less fortunate than ourselves. There is no obligation to take part. To support the transportation of the shoes from our school to Africa, we will be running a “Wear your favourite shoes to school” day on Friday 13th July. We will ask children to make a minimum £1 donation to wear their favourite shoes to school. Unfortunately, to protect our floors we will have to say no studded football boots. I am looking forward to seeing what the children choose to wear! To find out more about this charity please visit their website www.salsshoes.com or Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/salsshoes1
Many thanks for supporting this activity.
