In English this term, the children are working up to writing their own explanation texts about a mythical creature. First, they have been exploring features of an explanation text and practising writing interesting and detailed sentences with conjunctions. The children began their writing journey by creating a watercolour picture of Zog, from the picture book by Julia Donaldson, and writing an explanation sentence underneath to explain what had happened to him in their chosen part of the story.
