The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch Lighthouse models

We have been learning all about the story of ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch’.  As part of our D.T topic, we had to design our own lighthouses and then make them using a variety of materials and joined them together using different techniques.  We learnt about batteries and how they can be used to power objects.  We explored our school to find the darkest room we could find and used battery-powered tealights to test out our lighthouses.  They all shone brightly and looked like real lighthouses!  We were so pleased with ourselves!  Afterwards we had to evaluate our models and talk about what we liked about them, what we didn’t like about them and what we would change if we were to make them again.
