Year 1 – Children’s Mental Health Week

Our activities.

  1. The Whisper Game.

Are we good listeners?  We started the game by saying the sentence “I love chicken pie with mushroom sauce” and we finished with the phrase “chicken sauce”.  Afterwards we talked about the importance of listening and how to listen carefully.

  • Board games.

We played games and celebrated the success of our friends.

  • Worry dolls.

We listened to stories about worries.  Our favourite is The Huge Bag of Worries by Virginia Ironside and we read it regularly.  Mrs Bird helped us to make worry dolls.   It was difficult but we persevered.  Some children added hats and dresses to their worry dolls.
