Year 4 Digestion

In Science we have been learning about the different types of teeth in humans.  The children have looked carefully at their own teeth using mirrors, and have found out that we have incisors at the front of our mouths for taking a bite out of food.  They are thin, flat and sharp.  We also have canines which are pointy and sharp for tearing off food, and these are also near to the front.  Our molars and premolars are positioned at the back of the mouth to grind up food ready for swallowing.  We all looked really closely before thinking about how to create the teeth of our lower jaws using clay.  Everyone did an excellent job!  Well done, Mexico Class.
