Our story will be: The Three Billy Goats Gruff

Our rhyme of the week will be: Row, row , row your boat

Our maths work will focus on: Giving and taking 1, 2 and 4

We will also be:

  • Enjoying an art workshop, courtesy of START studios
  • Celebrating World Earth Day by becoming Superhero Planet Protectors
  • Building bridges in the garden with crates, boxes, tubing and other large equipment

Our story will be: The Extraordinary Gardener

Our rhyme of the week will be: The Farmers’ in his Den

Our maths work will focus on: developing pattern and position work

We will also be: talking about the parts of a plant and how they help the plant to grow and thrive, planting broad beans and continuing to develop are understanding of fruits and vegetables.

We will also be learning about the hijab, worn by Muslims.

Our story will be: The Extraordinary Gardener

Our rhyme of the week will be: Mary Mary, quite contrary

Our maths work will focus on: Comparing and sorting collections

We will also be: Talking about colour; colours in the garden, our favourite colours, inventing and creating flowers and plants in craft sessions, discussing what plants need to grow, talking about rainbows, enjoying the outdoors, looking at shadows (weather permitting!).

Our story will be: The Little Red Hen

Our rhyme of the week will be:  Insey Winsey Spider

Our maths work will focus on: Giving or taking 1, 2 or 3.

We will also be: Creating our own version of the Little Red Hen, practising the skills needed to make bread, celebrating World Book Day, playing dice games, weaving, making spiders and working out how to get them up the spout!

Our story will be: The Suitcase

Our rhyme of the week will be:  Hickory Dickory Dock

Our maths work will focus on:  Giving and taking 1, 2 and 3.

We will also be: adding to our suitcases, writing invitations and preparing a tea party for a visitor. We will use a world map to locate places in the world and talk about places we would like to visit. We will also learn about Valentine’s Day and Pancake day!

Our rhyme of the week will be: Baa Baa Black Sheep

Our maths work will focus on:  Using the language of position and direction

We will also be:  finding out about London landmarks (and building them using recycled materials) and learning how to programme our Beebot robots.

Our story will be:   Stuck in the Mud

Our rhyme of the week will be: Here we go round the mulberry bush

Our maths work will focus on:  Accurate 1:1 counting

We will also be:  finding out about baby animals, listening for initial sounds and creating some fabulous farm pictures.

Nursery week beginning 1.12.25

Our story will be:   The Nativity Story

Our rhyme of the week will be: Our Christmas performance songs

Our maths work will focus on:  Recognising and counting out 1, 2 and 3

We will also be:  making salt dough decorations, learning about Christian beliefs about Christmas, retelling the Nativity story and following instructions to complete a Santa sack race in the garden!

Nursery w/b 24.11.25

Our story will be:  The Jolly Christmas Postman

Our rhyme of the week will be:  Our Christmas songs

Our maths work will focus on:  Showing 1, 2 and 3

We will also be:  Writing and posting letters to Father Christmas, practising cutting and sticking, learning about the job of a postman, and practising our Christmas performance.

Nursery w/b 17.11.25

Our story will be: Astrogirl

Our rhyme of the week will be:  From now until our performances we will be practising our Christmas songs

Our maths work will focus on:   positional language and shapesWe will also be:  learning a bit about space and the names of the planets, using metallic paints to create space pictures, carrying out a couple of space experiments and continuing with Fred Talk.
