We admit children at two different stages:
Playgroup – Children may join our afternoon ‘Playgroup’ sessions from the September following their second birthday, i.e. the school year in which they will turn three.
Playgroup children may attend from two to five afternoon sessions each week. These run from 12.00pm – 3.00pm each day, with an emphasis on fun, learning through play, and personal, social and emotional development. Please note that we are unable to offer 30 hours to this age group, as they attend in the afternoons only.
Nursery class (Rising 4s) – Children join our Nursery class from the September following their third birthday, i.e. the school year in which they will turn four.
Nursery class children attend for a minimum of two morning sessions per week, and may attend mornings only or full days, up to 30 hours. Please note that it is not possible for this age group to take afternoon sessions, unless they are in for the full day.
Morning sessions run from 9.00am – 12.00pm and full day sessions from 9.00am – 3.00pm.
Pre-session “Early Start” sessions are available from 8.35am at a rate of £3.50 per day. Any unused funded hours can be used for these “Early Start” sessions too. These sessions must be pre-booked in advance.
Once children turn four, they are able to use Kaleidoscope. This is wraparound and holiday care for children from 4 years old, based on the school site. Please see their section on the website for further information: www.browickroadprimary.co.uk/noticeboard/kaleidoscope
Morning sessions are designed to help children to thrive in every area of learning and development, in an environment that is centred around play and investigation, whilst learning early phonics and number skills in readiness for school.
