On Monday 27th April, we went on a trip to the StART Studio in Wymondham. We are completing a school art project as part of our 150 year anniversary of Browick. Here is what we did:
Step 1: Sarah took a photo of us and printed it ready for us at the studio. We then flipped over the photo and covered the back of the page in graphite.
Step 2: We flipped our photo back over and put it on the canvas.
Step 3: We drew over the features of our faces with pencil which left a mark on the canvas (because of the graphite). They turned out great!
Step 4: We took the photo off the canvas and went over the graphite lines with coloured pastels – all different colours.
Step 5: We then used acrylic paints going for either hot colours for the background and cold for the face, or vice versa. We splodged on the acrylic paint trying not to be too perfect because nothing really is.
The paintings looked really great and we really enjoyed it.
