The class had a brilliant Science lesson this week. Dr Clare, a local GP, came in to do a dissection of a pig’s heart for us! We used the desk camera to show the details of each part of the heart on the board, while matching them up with the diagrams that we had used in our previous learning. Seeing a real example really helped to bring our learning to life, and the children were amazed at being able to see the different veins, arteries and chambers, and imagine how the blood flows through them. Whilst there were several shocked faces at first (see picture!), it was a fantastic session and every single child came up to touch it at the end – with gloves of course! One of the girls asked if we can do a brain dissection next… but we’ll stick with the heart for now!
